……….well actually I’m in Singapore but the last couple of weeks have felt like the Old Spice advert ( and if you haven’t seen it – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owGykVbfgUE ).
I have to say that it’s been a bit of a whirlwind with all the flying. The only time I’ve been in one place for more than two nights has been Sydney, and of course my family were there so blogging came in a distant second.
All the Australian dates and the one in NZ were amazing (and I’m not just saying that). Audiences have been outstanding, the welcome has been humbling and the weather seemed to like us too! Unlike 25 years ago, when I couldn’t really leave the hotel, I thoroughly enjoyed exploring every city and finally feeling some of the culture. It certainly made us all want to come back.
It may have been due to the fact my family were there but I now have a major soft spot for Sydney, what an amazing city. We managed to pack in more during 5 days than we normally would on a 2 week holiday, Frances and the kids had a blast and loved every second. That’s not to say that everywhere else wasn’t great also, I just had more free time in Sydney. I certainly would love to spend more time in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland. You all made us feel incredibly welcome and for that we thank you.
I’m now in a hotel at Singapore airport for a stopover before flying to Manila tomorrow. Judging by the Tweets & Facebook/MySpace posts, it’s going to be an exciting show on Sunday! We’re looking forward to it.
I will say that I honestly believe that this is the best TFF have ever sounded live. Whether it’s the makeup of the band or just the energy from the reception I don’t know, my aim is to enjoy it for as long as I can in the hope that the audiences will to.
With that it’s off to bed for me as we fly again tomorrow morning. Don’t forget that if you want more regular updates just join Twitter and follow @curtsmith – it’s easier updating in 140 characters or less
